Korean Fashion: Jokduri (족두리)

Jokduri (족두리)

Traditionally worn by female members of the royal family, the jokduri represented a woman's status in society and was frequently used throughout the late Goryeo (고려) period. Whether the jokduri was used for daily use, weddings or other special occasions, it rapidly became a national fashion token.

The jokduri is handcrafted with silk and cotton- because of its light material and weighty historical significance, it can be effortlessly added to an outfit for formal events such as a wedding ceremony.

Leehwa sells jokduri in Pink Flower, White Bejeweled and Red. These would be a great way to spruce up your special-day attire!
